Valentine One remote display install?

Where have you people installed the remote display for a valentine one? I just got mine in the mail the other day. i was looking at the little box on the console, it is visable there, but I hate to take the space. anyone have any other ideas?

I haven't seen that one! So the box shines through the mirror? I live in VA where radar detectors are illegal, so I didn't want any lights showing that were visable from out side the car. I put in down in the box by the shifter right now, it wedged in perfectly without any screws. I'll post a pic soon!

Well, you etch the mirror material off the glass and mount the display to the inside.. shining though the glass.

Does the Valentine remote radar detector look like that? With that thing, does the whole bow with the display have to get mounted, or is the display part detachable from the box? And what in the hell is the really big thing in that picture?

nope.. the V1 remote face is the same size as the face of the detector, but only like 3/8" thick.

The new display is much smaller. I'll take a picture, but it is not like the BEL system, the unit is still the antenna, you have to have it on the windshield, then the display goes down low and the unit does not light up. Makes it less obvious, but it is not as nice as the BEL though. I have heard mixed reviews on the performance of the BEL remote, but it sure looks nice!

I like the Valntine better, but I heard it can't detect the new POP signal the police are using. And isn't it the valentine 1.8 now, or has it always been that?

And from what I have seen, the remote unit is more like 1and 1/8 inches thick, so mounting it in the mirror might be hard, even though it would be cool.

I think the new ones are 2.0. I heard that POP is very unreliable and most areas won't use it because of that. Not true?

Now I need to move my remote display again, just bought an LS1 Nitrous kit, and it has the switches designed to mount in the box in front of the shifter...
