Im working on an 05 grand prix. The cd player quit working so i upgraded and bought a factory 6 disc indash changer off of ebay for it. They say it needs to be reprogrammed for it to work. Is this true or can it be unlocked like the older style radios by getting the numbers and calling the 1-800 number to unlock it? They mentioned something about using a Tech2.

now does it only need to be programmed if it is locked or does it need to programmed no matter what?
this sucks. there is no way to bypass paying someone to unlock it?

heres the bypass: get a buddy that works as a tech or service writer,lol, thats has worked great for me for a few years now.
