Troubles with my sub
Troubles with my sub
I have a 10" infinity sub in my car, and it decided to quit working today, so after testing everything I have discovered that it is the sub that is screwed.
So I thought it was garbage and time to buy a new on, when I decided to check it again one last time before I junk it. But this time I checke it for a circut on the wires actually going to the sub and the needle on the voltmeter thing jumped so I tried touching the wires from the amp to the wires on the sub and it started playing music liek nothing was wrong.
Right on so it isn't garbage so I tried it on the actual conectors on the sub and nothing again. So I am probably just gonna try wraping some speaker wire around the sub wire and then saulder it and see if that works.
My question is why is it doing this and why wont it work on the actual connectors??

apparently something came loose/is broken in/on the connectors. If you take them apart (there is usually a little nut on one side you can take off) and inspect it, you may find the problem.
If you don't see anything, and end up soldering a new lead, make sure you leave enough room on the lead for the woofer to make maximum excursion, yet not sloppy enough to bang on the woofer as it comes back.
Good luck
