I'm thinking about getting a 4th gen TA next year and had a question about the radio. With the radio controls on the steering wheel...... do those work ONLY with the factory Trans Am head unit? Are there any aftermarket units that would work? Would it work with the head units used in Camaros/C5 Corvettes/Impala SS's ?


Just curious. I like the stock C5 head unit.... easy to use and good looking. I'm not big on aftermarket. So could it work with a C5 radio, or would I be trapped w/ the stock TA unit?

Are there ANY alternatives?

 

The steering wheel controls will not work with aftermarket radios, unless you buy an interface. It will probably work with other GM radios, but they mount different, and it might be more trouble than it's worth to try to fit one
