I dont know if they carry the stuff your talking about, but I bought all my wire for my 1800 watt system in my truck from home depot... and it cost me less than 10 bucks. You buy it by the foot. edit: it might not be as flexible though...

so....if i run an 80A AGU fuse in the fuse holder and hold the amp to lets say 325 - 350 watts and stick with the 8 gauge wire am I running any sort of high risk? What is the worse that can happen? Will it melt the tubing off the wire? The kit says its made to withstand up to 350 watts so should it matter that im puting an 80A fuse in it when im holdin it to < 350 watts? Obviously if i get the system hooked up and feel like i need close to 500 watts, then i should probably upgrade to 4awg, but untill then shouldnt the 8awg do the job?

You can't adjust your wattage like that... it doesn't work that way....

And the worse that can happen, you can melt the insulation off the wire, then the main fuse will pop before you start your car on fire... Although the section of wire between the battery and fuse could still ignite...

Not something to play with...

D*mn....went to circuit city and talked with the boss back in the roadshop. He was the one that set me up with the stuff and he said that it would be fine to run the 80A fuse under the hood. I went ahead and bought some and i put one in and the amp powered on with a red light like it did with the other few fuses that were smaller and then went into a green light. I figured that meant the amp was stable and i turn up the volume on my head unit just a touch and it blew all 4 20A fuses that were on the side of the amp. What could be the reason for this?

Figured out that all my wiring was correct and the amp is bad. I am going to move down to 4awg wire since my boss is going to allow me to return the 8awg kit. I am going to go with the mono channel mxa6001 amp. 300w x 1 @ 4 ohm., 600w x 1 @ 2 ohm. I can get it for $173 plus the shipping fee. I figure it may be a little too much power, but then again the type r like power right?
