Strange HU install problem..
Okay, here's the problem:
Once the HU was hooked up, all the speakers worked fine except the left front speaker. It basically just plays static at a constant level, not volume dependant.
Here's the details:
I had a Pioneer DEHP7200 that was in a 93 or 94 Bonneville a while back. I still had the harness all wired up, and it uses the same harness as what every other 88+ GM uses (for the most part), the Metra 1858 harness. This was going into a 1995 Z28 with what appears to be the Bose system. The harness fit fine, and the CD's played without a problem, except for that front drivers side speaker. I've actually got a spare harness sitting around for the typical factory amplified system, but I get the feeling that it's just a wiring faux pas or something.
Any idea's as to a solution are welcome! The radio worked flawlessly in the previous car, and it was just sitting on a shelf for about a year since then. Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm not an expert by any means, but here's my two cents. I would think your problem is coming from the speaker itself or a poorly connected wire, not from the wiring harness. The speaker is creating static, so you know some form of power is getting to it. Assuming there is nothing wrong with the speaker I would just disconnect it and make sure all the wires are connected properly. If that doesn't work you could perhaps switch the front two speakers and see how it works that way. That should tell you where your problem is at.
Its the bose system that is screwing things up. Mine does the same thing. I also have a Pioneer hu. I had it checked out and the guy said aftermarket hus sometimes have trouble with the Bose biamping. He said to run wires from the hu so you are using its amps rather than letting the trunk speaker power everything.

streetz- That reminded me of something that I forgot to mention. The stock radio works and plays fine without any problem, so the speaker SHOULD be okay.
Any other alternatives before we start rewiring stuff?
Just figured I'd post an update here.
After I looked around a little closer at things, I noticed it was a common ground system. I used a Scosche FAI-3 I had laying around and wired it up FOR common ground, and everything worked just fine.

Yeah, or you can use resistors. Im not even sure where or what ohm, but my boss did it in a 93 a short while back, it sounded gooood.
Door jamb aint that bad, especially if you have those flexable grabbers from Sears. They run about $5.
Ive run wire to my speakers and for my alarm through the door no problem with those.
