stock system help please
stock system help please
im getting a whinning sound through the speakers when i rev the engine. happens even when the radio is off. im pretty sure it has to do with the grounding on the amp because ive seen this before. can someone tell me the best place to install a ground loop isolator? or if this is something different?
thanks
thanks
Re: stock system help please
First off check your ground. Make sure it is good. Then check your RCA's. When they start going bad, they will pick up noise. Do you have the RCA's with the little wire running down the middle of it? If so, that is a ground wire, not a remote wire.

i dont know. i have never actually looked at the amp. isnt in the back, behind the passanger side panalling? This is the stock Monsoon system, i didnt think there were RCA's. where is the ground wire bolted too? can i just add a ground loop isolator there?
thanks again
thanks again
Re: stock system help please
A ground loop isolator has RCA connectors and goes between the HU and amplifier. It does NOT get connected to the amp's ground connection.
If you are hearing the noise even when the stereo is off it is not a ground problem. What speakers are you using? If they are after-market speakers where do you have the crossovers mounted? More details about the rest of your setup would help.
