stock CD unit skips! anyone?

stock CD unit skips! anyone?

Stock cd headunit skips on standard and burned cd's! music was not meant to be listened to like this! anybody else have this problem?

Mine does that ever since I removed my aftermarket player and put the stock one back in

Try to retightin the screws might be too loose.

stereo is screwed in tight.

and it still skips on regular cd's and cd-r's

*doh*

can anyone else help?

Try not only tightening the head unit's screws, but also loosening it up a bit. It could be in there too tight. It's possible that the suspension inside the head unit is getting worn out. You could probably take it to a local repair shop as a last resort; I wouldn't expect paying more than $50 to make it brand new again. Then again, it could be $50 more towards buying another CD player. DO NOT use those CD cleaners (i.e. it looks like a CD with mini brushes on them) The are not intended to be used with mobile CD players, and are specifically mentioned in almost all aftermarket CD player manuals.
