It still doesnt sound right!!!! Educate me!

Ive spent sooo much money on my system, and I still dont have it sounding properly. It is very distorted at high volumes, and I cant get it to sound clear. I heard that they sell something that can delete the bass from the door speakers as well as the back speakers, but I dont know what that is. Also, can someone please educate me as to how a crossover can help my system.

you can view my system @

I am planning to change my Pioneers to JL Audios, as well as get a speaker to push my rear 6 1/2's (xplod 150 watts) as well as the 6x9 (Xplod 150 watt) in the trunk. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

Well, you can buy bass-blocker which go inline to your front speakers and remove the bass...

But otherwise what is your cross over set at for your subs? I'd say the highest you want it is probably 100Hz, if you have it set higher or don't have one, there's a HUGE problem right there...

Also, where are the gains and bass-boost (if you have one) set at? those are HUGE causes of distortion.

The Bass Blockers you can find at Best buy, but you're going to pay more... they can also be gotten from Partsexpress.com

The Crossover; Any will work, but for brand recommendations I'm a fan of Audiocontrol, but they are a little expensive. You can find a cheap 2-way cross over on ebay for probably $20, any of those should work for your application.

doesent sound like youve spent much money at all on your system.......because you get what you pay for.......sounds like you need to take back what ever you got in your car, and buy some component speakers, that come with crossovers. buy a decent amp that has even more low pass filters in them to realy tweak your system, then you can complain that you sopent tooo much money! but like i said you get what you pay for
