Speakers shorting out

I have been having trouble with my speakers lately. Every now and then my speakers will short out and only the front drivers side speaker will work. I have narrowed the problem down to the wiring behind the passenger side kick panel. Whenever the speakers cut out i can hit or bump the kick panel and the speakers will start to work again. I have removed the kick panel and the problem went away so I think it might have something to do with the kickpanel itself pinching a wire or causing a ground. Does anybody have any ideas? I have a Panasonic CY-VMD9000U installed with a CA-TU9000U AV receiver. I still have the 5 factory bose speakers as well.
