Is it suppossed to sound good?

Mine sounds like crap, almost like AM radio or a 96 kbps MP3 file. Everything else sounds great in my car (cd, radio etc). FM radio sounds 100x better.

Its in a durango, not the f body.

Kenwood 700SR deck, with built in tuner. Antenna is on roof. It is NOT FM modulated (antenna goes right into deck).

Any ideas, it rarely cuts out, has no static etc, just no depth to the music.

 

I have the same problem with my XM. Im not fm modulated either. Sounds like complete crap.. FM and Cd's sound wayyyy better.

That is odd--I have Sirius and dont have a problem I do have to have the volume louder when listening to it. But the sound is just as good once I increase the volme.

 

I wrote to Sirius... they told me to call kenwood (people who make my tuner). Lots of help.

 

I have XM and I have to say the sound quality is not how I expected it. I have a very nice Alpine HU and when I hooked up the xm I noticed that its not CD quality like they promised. I thought it would be like Mp3 quality, but no. It's better than FM though.

 

Mine is WAY worse than FM, but its a high dollar setup. $400 deck, Aftermarket speakers all around, subs, 5 channel amp etc etc

After their response to me, i wrote them back and told them to cancel my subscription. I went month to month so no big deal. Screw them.

 

i have sirius with a kenwood deck and mine sounds great i have 700 in just the deck and tuner also 2 sets of componets up front a set od 8 in midbass in the sail panel and 2 12s in the trunk. and it sound just like a high quality cd or better

Exactly, flat.

Kenwood told me to reset the deck (not the problem, been reset many times, hasnt had any depth since day one brand new). If that didnt work take it to a dealer.
