hi, i have a rockford fosgate punch power 250x2 that stopped working a while back. i took it to an authorized dealer and they say it's going to cost $189 to fix it. should i just let it go or fix it? it's not one of the new amps they came out with, it's an older model. it doesn't have any fuses, i think it has an unregulated power supply. i don't have a pic of it....i couldn't find much info on it online. thanks for any help

Thats an awful lot to pay for a repair. I think you'd be better off tossing it and buying a new amp.

 

you can pick up that same amp on ebay for cheaper than that. Also there are other places that fix amp for alot less money.

 

i tried looking for one on ebay to see how much it would go for but i couldn't find any. actually i couldn't find any info on it online for that matter. the actual model number is 250x2. i saw some that are 250 watts x2 but the model number is 500.2. mine is from the mid 90's. the guy called today and i guess i heard wrong last time, he said it's gonna be $129. it's been 2 years since i last used it, i'm picking it up tomorrow.......i can't wait to bass out once more .

 

haha, glad it all worked out. Unfortunately for me I have a RF 600.4 that's no longer working I'll probably sell it on eBay.....
