replacing 6speaker stock setup...Recomendations?
Well when it comes to turnin the wrench I have a decent idea at what Im doing... But on the audio side of things.. well not so much... I do have acouple head units in mind. I'm wanting some recomendations on a high quality speaker set to replace my stockers.. I have the 6speaker setup. 2 fronts. 2 backs and then the two in the rear side panels. I listen to only rock..Im wantin to stay away from messin with subs again. I had two tens in my old TA../ But I do enjoy a decent bass thump. I would like to try get that out of a speaker only system and am open to runnin an amp to my speakers..If I do end up with a sub it would defantly have to be one 10 or 12 mounted in open space on the drivers side rear in the hatch area because of the t-tops... Thanks for the time.
I run Infinity 6.5 Kappas, in the Doors and Sail Panels, and a 10" Stealth in the Drivers Side Cubby, all powered by a Kenwood Excelon deck.
Amps are mounted in the spare tire area. Works out well for the 'Hidden' effect, and the t-top storage is not effected at all.
New head-unit plus amped speakers is really the way to fly if you're looking for quality sound, and simply replacing the factory speakers won't get you there IMHO
Install of the Sub is really not bad, as the 'Stealth' Boxes simply bolt right in, and you already mentioned that you are open to installing amps, so adding the Sub at that point is simply a few more wires, and a second amp. Distribution Boxes make this pretty simple.
