Relocating Head Unit / Cd Player

I'd like to relocate my cd player to the right passenger side right below the airbag. I have a custom molded lcd screen that's going in where the cd player used to be. I know I might lose the airbag by doing this. Any idea's on how I would be able to fit it in? Mounting it, I would assume, would be the biggest problem. Here's a pic of where I'd like it to go.

I've also thought about mounting it in the middle of the airbag panel on the passenger side. Any thoughts/ideas are greatly appreciated.

Re: Relocating Head Unit / Cd Player

wouldnt you also not be able to use your glove box aswell seems as the deck would go right into it. But if you dont mind that either, it seems like it would be pretty straight forward. I would take out the glove box, disconnect the batt, pull the SRS fuse (wait a minute or 2 before doing any further work cause the airbags can go off even if power is disconnected within a few seconds) then just cut a hole with something like an airsaw. Probably use a trim ring around the cage of the deck for cosmetic and support reasons, then just extend your wiring from behind the deck to the glove box. For this i would probably use a harness - reverse harness - harness setup that way you dont hackup your original wiring if you want to keep the wiring stock. Also you may need something to support the rear of the deck from flopping around while driving.
