I have a 1993 z28,the driver side window goes up and down slow sometimes stops half way,wait a second or two and it will go. The pass window goes up will not go down from ether switch.I replaced pass side motor and switch.I found a box under the dash that clicks and buzzes when driver side stops working,is this related to the pass side not going down?

 

Sound like your bcm(body control modual) might be going bad.You said you heard a buzzing coming from under the dash.Did it sound like it was coming from behind the radio on the transmission hump?

 

ZRAPTOR, my friend has exactly what you just explained. Dont want to hijack the thread or anything, but a few quick things.
He has a 1996 Trans AM, neither of the windows will work. After some playing around I got the drivers side to go down for a second, then we heard the noise from under the dash you described, and it stopped working again.
Should he replace the BCM, or the window motors??
And how would he go about replacing the BCM?

 

If you are hearing that noise you will most likely need to replace the BCM.Changing the power widow motors wont solve the problem.

 

Yes it is under the dash by the steering column.( the BCM) Im waiting for the window switch on the driver door to come in,that might fix the pass window to go down and im going to replace the driver side motor while I have it all apart.
