Problems with XM Delphi SkyFi install

Ok, time to visit my car audio peeps for a change

Alright everything is hooked up just fine, but the problem seems to be with power interference. I have a JVC HU with an auxillary input on the front. I have a straight headphone jack wire going from the car audio install kit unit to the aux port on the Head Unit. With the XM Radio on or off, I get serious interference like low static sound and a higher pitch sounds that follows engine RPM. Is there some sort of filter that can be added in the line to prevent this from happening? Jiggling the cigarette lighter adapter changes the sound so that is how I have come to realize that this is the route of the problem. Does anyone have any ideas on a fix?

Thanks in advance

go with an RF modulator. or you could try a mini jack - rca adapter and if you have an aux input on the back you could hookup to that. Ive seen a few people trying to hook stuff of through the front mini jack input and either get engine noise and/or static or just crappy sound all together.

thank you for your input. But it is definitely not that. I hooked the power to an outside source (A/C adapter) and then hooked it up to the receiver and it worked fine. It has to be the power source that I am pulling from.

What if I disconnect the cigarette lighters ground and connect it directly to the same source as the radio's. That would eliminate any chance of a ground loop...

ok, I did the above and seems to have gotten a little bit better. But it is still not acceptable...

Why not hit Autozone and pick up a filter?

Something like THIS: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=270-051

Or THIS: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=270-055.

Install it on the power and/or ground wire (read it's directions) for the cigarette lighter.

Every car I've EVERY owned has has really noisy power coming from the cigarette lighter.
