problems with install
i have a 12 dics changer in the trunk and a cassette player in my dash( factory). I have a box, 2 12" an amp and all the wires, i also got a kit to splice into my front speaker wires to input a set of RCA's well i got it all togeather and nothing happened. i dont get the power light to my amp but if i touch the power and ground it sparks. if i go behind the dash and undo the remote wire it make a noise through all the speakers( must mean its working) but i get nothing from the amp. where do most people ground their amp? a special spot around the spare tire?
i know i had to splice into a grey wire/tan wire/bright green and dark green wire. and my remote is tied into a yellow wire.
i need some help.

I grounded my amps to a bolt behind the carpet on the rear wall...if the amp isnt turning on it has to be the remote provided you have a good ground.....I dont know about hooking up an amp to the factory system so i couldnt tell you what wire to get the remote from.
