Problem with speaker - driver side backseat

For a couple months the speaker has made a noise that sounded like maybe the cover was a bit loose or something, and when I would place my hand over it to stop it, it sounded better so I didnt think anything of it. Last night it started getting alot worse, so I took the cover off, and i guess I blew it. Just made a loud thumping noise, almost like a piece was loose or something.

Anyhow its the monsoon system .. is it better to try and get a factory replacement, or goto Wal-Mart and get something that will sound similar to how it did before. If anyone also has any prices that would be great too.

Thanks

YOU CAN NOT GO TO WAL MART AND GET A REPLACEMENT!!! Those are the factory subwoofers for the monsoon system. You have blown it up.

You will need to find another subwoofer to replace them. Here is the problem:

Factory monsoon sub is 6.5" 2ohm subwoofer. Currently there are no 2ohm 6.5" subs (that I am aware of). Many people have had this same problem and many people have found a solution.
The available subs are 3ohm (Audiobahn AMD60Q), 4ohm (as many subs are this size), and 8ohm (as an optional sub). If you are going to keep the stock system and upgrade the speakers try this link:

the Rockford Fosgate subs referenced in this thread are discontinued and so are the JL Audio 6W0.
Here is a link for the pin out on the amp. Depending on what car you have, this is great to know what subwoofer wire is positive and negative.

If you need just one, shoot me a pm, as I just removed my factory ones as one was blown and the other one is still good.
