no bass?????
no bass?????
ok I got 1 10" RF POWER HX2 and a Rockford Power 1000bd 1000 watt mono block....i cant even hear the sub no matter what the gain is set to and the subwoofer level on the HU all the way up.....if i look at it its going i can see the speaker moving and i can hear it but only if im in the trunk not well driving.....someone here told me the amp is stable at 1 ohm so i wired it to 1 ohm.....my first thought was maybe its not getting enough power cause i have 3 amps going and the amp is only getting a 8ga wire off a dist block splitting a 4ga...but in my old setup i had 3 amps going and my 2 12"s pounded....so now im thinking maybe the new 1000bd isnt 1ohm stable....would that be whats causing it to barely move the sub?
I'm assuming this is a dual voice coil sub? If so, have you checked to make sure you didn't connect one of the VC's backwards? If the VC's are not in phase with each other it will result in almost complete cancellation and very little movement by the cone if any.
hmmm what do u mean by backwards???? I connected positive to positive negative to negative...but it is possible because my buddy helped me do it and he had no clue what he was doing and he connected them to the box and i didnt double check im going to open the box and see.....thanks
also yes its a dual 2ohm sub
also yes its a dual 2ohm sub

well i ended up taking out the sub and wiring it for 4ohm and still getting nothing...so then i messed around with the filter and fixed it i got tons of bass now at 4ohm and id rather just leave it at that cause i may add another 10" on the other side and if u add them together wired at that then itll be 2ohm
sorry the "stupids" just set into my head for a minute lol.....but to upgrade the power wire id have to run another 4ga wire right to the amp lol i dont want 100 wires going thru my car. only other way i can think is getting a 0 guage and splitting it to 2 4 ga but even with that id have to take everything out cause a 0 guage isnt gonna fit under the trim panels LOL im gonna have to run it under the carpet....to much work lol

He said the 1000bd though and that's only stable down to 2 ohms.

Some people call it the bd1000 for short, so I figured that's what he was asking about. Aren't the new bd1000's two channel? Maybe not.....

bd1000
1000bd (for at least 2002)
1001bd (for 2003)
So there is a difference and the 1000bd and 1001bd are both Class D mono amps that are 2 ohm stable.

I have a 1000bd (made in 2002) I used for a bit and the newer 1001bd's have different endcaps and I think are a slightly different color.
