Need Monsoon Replacement Help

My monsoon system in my 1998 Z28 sucks ***. the LF speaker is blown and the clairity is pathetic. I have a Alpine CDA 7870 (1 din) along with 4 Polk Audio GXR6's (6.5 coax). I plan to run these of the deck and use the stock subs (6 3/4") for bass. How can I integrate the stock subs (which I plan to replace with quality 6 3/4 Subs) and stock amp, with the Alpine deck?

I have an extra amp, do I have to use it? I would rather not have to wire up the amp (extra weight and hassle).

I'm planning on using the GM add on wiring harness for the stereo.

Thanks in advance

You know what's sad? The mach 460 sound system in the Rustang blows the Monsoon out of the water. Used to own a 95 Cobra. Whoever is responsible for that garbage of a system in my treasured Camaro should be made to listen to it for a week straight!

Read all the posts from this thread from the electronics forum at LS1.com It should tell you everything you need to know about the POS Monsoon system and how to upgrade it.
