Need help with system swap
Hello there, Im in need of some help, duh.
Anyhow, I have a 1998 Camaro Z28, and I am wanting to remove the factory speakers, and the factory amp, and install Pioneer speakers all the way around. Heres my trouble:
I want to use the stock wires that run TO the speakers. I have already ran line-outs for each channel to the rear of the car, and will be using an amp of my own. Does anyone know where I can find info on tapping into the factory wries that come out of the trunk-mounted amp that comes with these cars? Or something along those lines at least.
Basicly, I need a pinout of the stock amp, or something to that effect so I know what wires to use.
Thanks!!

The best way to do the job is to pull the seats out of the car. It makes it a lot easier to work on. What I've done is run the RCA cables down the center of the car. The power cables and speaker wires are run under the door sill panels. The only tricky part is running the speaker wires into the doors. And that really isn't all that hard to do. Don't bother trying to pull the factory wires. They're part of a harness that has your window, door locks, lighting, etc. Start by removing the door trim panels, kick panels and door sills. I've found that it's easiest to start by running the wires into the doors and thru the rubber boot to the kick panel area. Tape the end of the wires to the end of a straightened out clothes hanger. Feed the hanger into the door cavity and into the rubber boot. Use one hand to feed it thru and the other to help guide it thru the rubber boot. You'll be able to feel it as it goes thru the boot. Once you're thru the boot look for it to come poking thru in the kick panel area. When you run the wires under the door sill be careful when you shoot the screws back in. You don't want to pierce the wire and cause a short.
