Re: need advice on upgrading....

There are places that sell for less than Crutchfield. The only problem is that none of these places are authorized to sell the products they offer. When it comes to items like an HU that has moving parts like the faceplate and CD handling mechanism I like to have a manufacturer's warranty to fall back on. If you buy from an un-authorized dealer and they happen to go out of business you're SOL if you need to make a warranty claim. Personally I feel that the extras that Crutchfield offers offsets their higher cost. You get vehicle specific installation instructions, an installation kit and wiring harness for no additional cost. And their customr support has always been top notch in my experience. You can save money by buying other parts of the system from an unauthorized online dealers. The money you save there can go towards your new HU from Crutchfield.

Crutchfield is a great place to buy stuff from. However, if you are looking for the cheapest place to get stuff, as im sure you know, its ebay. Personally, I do all my research and look at stuff on crutchfield then if im buying something, head over to ebay to pick it up. But like LS1Rulz said, ebay doesnt offer you the extras and peace of mind that Crutchfield does.

One thing nice about crutchfield is they will supply you with the wiring haness, dash kit, etc for your car at no cost. That Eclipse deck is a nice deck for the price we carry it at work, as far as getting an amp do you have stock speakers or aftermarket

Great thanks for all the replies !! I ended up buying the Eclipse 2000
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ZjIjpTN...00&i=099CD2000
Now will I need and aftermarket kit to install it or the kit that comes with it will do?
also I do have the stock speakers. So not sure if I'll need an Amp or not.
Also I've never installed a stereo on a car before, would you guys say is pretty straigh forward or am I better off taking to a shop to have it install ??

Thanx.

It should come with everything you need, only thing you may need is the antenna adapter idk if it comes with it or not. Install is very straightforward they give you directions as well.
