My new mini system...

heres the box and sub. All in all I have about 50 dollars in it ( Including wood, carpet, new blade for my jig saw, and the sub I got on clearance ) I am not looking for amazing bass, or amazing clarity. I'm just looking for a little extra humph that the stock ( non monsoon ) system just doesn't provide, even with the new head unit. I had a lot of fun building the box, thats for sure.

Heres pictures of my amp placement.

Actuall made the little flap a lot more sturdy ( weird )

Over all I am 110% satisfied with my investment. I have 50 in the sub and box, 75 in the amp, and 50 bucks in a installation kit and a few other small odds and ends ( wires, ends, ties, stuff like that ) And after messing with the gains on my amp and the head unit, I'm amazed by the improvement I have yet to listen to anything but rap * Tupacs All Eyez On Me ) and some Carcass, but Its more than enough, my only complaint would be with heavy, HEAVY double kick bass, something just doesn't seem right, but thats alright with me

Box looks great But location of an amp... dunno, there must be alot of vibration there, plus not enough ventilation, that's not good for electronics... If you made a box yourself, you can make back-wall amp rack easy.

As far as the box goes, I would have spent a couple extra bucks on some MDF. You probably could have gotten a half sheet from Lowe's or Home Depot. It would have only cost you about 10-12 bucks and it's definitely the reccommended material for making a sub box. It looks good though, you just gotta do something different with the amp.
