My amp rack idea...
I'm by no means a car audio guru and I've never done anything like this before, but I didn't want to spend $70 on a subthump amp rack so I thought I would try my hand at creating my own.
First I cut two pieces of plywood to 40" x 16". I don't know how much the plywood cost, because I had extra plywood laying around. The backing that you see is what will be against the back seat of the car. It was an extra piece of wood from an old busted bed.

What I ended up spending money on was $10 for some "charcoal" fabric ($4.99/yard), $6 for the spray adhesive...

...And $17 for the metal "vent".

I angled the wood so that I could retain use of the t-top "flap". I also left the sides open to help with airflow through the rack to keep the amps cool.

And finally, although I'm not done carpeting and nailing it together (haven't installed the amps yet), I wanted to see how it fit.

What do you think so far? I'm hoping to have it finished in the next day or two.
