I am looking for a good amp to run a single 10 inch alpine type r. How does a MTX 6500D mono-block amp sound?

not sure about that one but i'm powering a 10 mtx speaker with a thunder 282 and love it. one of the other things to keep in mind is that mtx underates there amps by alot. my amp is suposed to be 180 watts at 12.5 vdc and was tested at 231 watts that acording to the sheet that was in the bow with it...

 

I've been using the 6500D with a 10" Alpine Type-S @ 2ohms in a Vantage Stealthbox for 3 or 4 years now. For a single subwoofer install I couldn't be happier with it. I may yank the spare and add a second Stealthbox one of these days.
