Well, um... Just what does the term "midrange" mean to you. A midrange speaker would have the center tone coming out of it, right? Its for voices and instrument sounds.. The tweater would be for the high pitched symbol sounds along with higher voices. I would consider the 6.5's they have to be subs since all that really comes out of them is bass and the lower range tones. Size doesn't make a sub a sub Take for instance bass tubes. They make 6.5" subs in that size.

good luck just replacing the speakers alone, Not unless you replace them with other monsoon speakers other wise to install new speakers you will have to run all new wire to each speaker.

umm... this post is dripping with MASSIVE miscoceptions.

first read this post http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=177382

I made that to explain about replacing Monsoon Speakers.

As for the Speakers the front is a component tweeter and Midrange, the FAR back (trunk) is a component tweeter and midrange, and in the middle (sail panels) are 6.5 inch DVC Subwoofers.

You DONT have to run new wire, you DONT have to buy a new headunit. Cut the harnesses off the speakers you remove right near where they connect, then crimp on some connectors and attach to the new speakers. Its not hard. Just make sure you buy the RIGHT kind of speaker.
