Mixed and matched to get component system - Audio guys look:
I made my own component system out of two systems that i had laying around. This is what I did:
- Boston Acoustic RC520 Component system. with crossovers and tweeters (speakers to small for camaro) $50 from friend
- Pyramid 200w 6.75" subs (free from friend)
I just took my subs that can handle a lot of power and wired them in to the Boston Acoustic instead of the little BA subs that came with the system. Is there any kind of problem when doing somthing like this? My subs can handle 200w or so they say...
After I get a faceplate I will have 50 watts going to the speakers through the crossover but is it worth it to add another 50w x2 amp to this setup? the system is allready pretty loud and clear as a bell with the stock tape player in my 95
If I was to add more watts through an amp how would I do it without screwing with my crossovers?.. or is it ok. I have no idea about tedious audio wiring as I am just learning.
