Major System Problems

Hey Everyone I need your help.
I have a panasonic 983 U head unit and an MTX Thunder 4244 Amp running a set of CDT Audio HD 642 3 way components. To say the least they sound like CRAP. The woofers peak out when the bass hits and the Tweeters will crackle sometimes. I just got dont installing this and now im starting to regret taking my Monsoon out. Any suggestions what might be wrong with it? The Amp says 200 watts RMS and the Speakers can take 170. I turned the gain all over the place and they sound like crap anywhere and it doesnt even get as loud as I feel it should. Any suggestions would be a great help thanks.

Gain is used to match the Voltage of you HU to tha amp, not to adjust volume. Sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere from your description. I would recheck every connection and then come back here if it doesn't help.
