L7 in Pass. StealthBox
L7 in Pass. StealthBox
Hey Everyone I'm thinking about putting a 10" solobaric L7 in a passenger side stealth box. Would the airspace of the box work well with this sub. I read the sub likes between .66in and 1in of airspace, I'm not sure what the box is though.
Also can anyone recommend me a good amp for this setup and place to mount the amp, preferably hidden, will it fit under the side panel with the stealth box?
One more Q, should I go with the 2ohm sub or the 4 ohm sub. I'm have already a JVC kd-sh77 head unit with sub controls and all the good stuff and the sub and amp mentioned above are the only other equipment I'll be running.
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I believe that sub needs more space so you can see its potential.
There should be a way to mount it so its stealth depending on the size of the amp itself , but if you decide stealth is not an issue, you can always check out my set up and get some ideas and build maybe an amp rack. Hope this helps.

I've bought an 10" L7...my choice has to be with the Milhouse from Subthump.com...just saving up the money...
get the amp rack for it too...then when the hatch is closed all is hidden...and you can still use your t-tops...

The 10" L7's are 600rms I believe, and I would recommend a Memphis 500D. This amp is 500rms bridged at 2 ohms, so your sub would have to be dual 4 ohm or the amp isn't compatable. I had 2 12" L5's and a Memphis 1000D in my old Monte Carlo, and it beat pretty hard.
Memphis is a great name..... but pricey. Why not go with Kicker? You can get the KX600.1 pretty cheap. Get the dual 4 ohm version of L7.
If that's too expensive, get the JBL BP600.1. It will output rated power, but it features leave much to be desired.

Thanks, for the help. I've been looking around on sounddomain.com for a day or two and I have to decided to go with the dual 4 ohm L7 and the kicker kx600.1. Now you suggesting it too makes me trust my decision even more.
However I'm not sure about 'bridging' and all that. How would I wire up everything to run at 2 ohms and get the full 600w from the amp to the speaker?
