here is the deal..
i have way to many wires running from the front to the back of my car. (4ga-soon to be 2 of them, 8ga, 2 sets of rca's - good/fat once, bunch of speaker wires and what not)
now, i have them all stucke in the kick pannels which are berely screwing back to place right now and since I take them appart time to time, they are in a really bad shape now, kind of sticking out. so far I don't see any other way to get this whole bunch of wiring though from the front to the trunk area..
I tried to shove them under the carpet with the coat hanger but it didn't work out very well..
just wondering if anyone had better ways/ideas to put about an inch in diameter worth of wires through the insides of the car.

Sounds like it's time to pull the seats out, raise the carpeting, and hide the wires properly.

You have noise in your system (ignition, alternator whine, etc..) ?

 

Take your seats and the center console out of the car to run your wires under the carpeting. I ran my RCA cables down the center of the car. The power cable and speaker wires are run along each side of the car.

 

yes i do.
i had way too much of the noice but it almost whent once i changed both ground wires to amps. now i barrely hear the noice but it's still there. guess i have to show it to a pro's once i'll finish redoing the setup..

Are both amps grounded to the same spot on the car's chassis? If not they should be. Having more than one path to ground is what causes ground loops.

Do your RCA cables use "twisted pair" construction? This type of cable gives better noise suppression than shielded cables.

Why do you have 1 run of 8awg and 2 runs of 4awg power cable running behind your kick panels?

 

I agree, you should split your wires. That will limit any noise. Seperate your power from speaker leads.

 

I have 1-4ga and 1-8ga right now - 8 will be changed to 4 for the second amp
I haven't had another 4ga available at the time so ive put 8ga as a temp. solution. well - stupid does twise.
the rca's are going throu the same kick pannel and now I think it's a good idea to separate them.
Both grounds are going to the same spot.
So far I think I'll push all he power and rca's through the center amd all the speakers and componants will be running on the sides..

 

Don't run the RCA's with the power cables. Run them down the center of the car with the power cables running with the speaker wires along the side. Low level signals like those in the RCA cables are susceptible to noise from the power cables. Speaker wires are less prone to pick up radiated noise like the RCA's are.

one more quick question..
Ive tryed to pop up the carpet on the sides of the kick pannels just enough to get the speaker wires in and out of the kick pannels. is the carpet glued down in there??

 

No it's not(on mine anyways). It just has the, I guess I would call it 'molde folds' so it almost wraps right around the panels a little bit. But it shouldn't be glued, just a little stiff.
