I was told after installing the resistor I have to reset something? What is that? Can I disconnect the neg battery terminal?

Just a Thought

If you are programming the pcm, be it yourself or someone else, you may consider disabling the VATS in the computer. With Tuner from CATS it is a one click! Makes life easier. Of if you are having one of the programmers on this board give you a new file for the computer ask them to disable VATS.

OK I went to the GM garage and they said my key is a #11. Which is a 4750 ohm resistor. Now, even though my key actually measured 4428 ohms should a try to make the resistors from radio shack total 4700? Thanks everyone!
So long as you are within 10% of the GM quoted value, you are good to go. That is why your current key works even though it isn't exactly 4700
