Having problems with the stock cd player/radio?

Hi, I am having problems with the stock radio/cd player in my 2002 Camaro Z28. I just bought the car with 67,500 miles on it last week and put in a cd and was listening to it fine for about a week now and I had to stop by the good ole' Wal-Mart here in town and went back out and started the car and hit the cd button and it sounded like it attempted to read the cd twice before the display came up Err for error. After that it spit out the cd and I looked at the bottom of the cd for scratches or smudges and cleaned it. I then put the cd back in and came up with the same results. Just to get it straight, I was using a actual cd, not a burn copy. I also tried a different cd still with no success. Please help if you can. Thanks for your help ahead of time!

Use a CD player cleaner. If it continues time to get a better system.
