Got a stealth Subthump & have ??'s

I bought a subthump from someone here in Las Vegas. It was brand new, still in the box. The trouble I am having is it just doesn't quit fit.

For the most part it fits good, but it's off where my plastic cover/trim fits towards the rear tail light. The box sits a little out & a little high - so the trim won't completely go back to original position & won't fit over the front edge of the top part of the box. I have tried to push, pull, shift, etc - but no go......

Has anyone had this problem or have an idea on how I can make any adjustments to get it to fit better?

Thanks,

Do you have any sound deadener under where the box sits and did you remove the slug of pre-formed carpet from the cubby prior to installation? All these and many more can be contributors.

Thank you SO much for the response...I really like the sound, but know it will be better when it is place like it should be.

I've had the car since 4/07 & don't believe there's been any wreck in that area.

I don't have sound deadener, but I do have both the carpet & the pre-formed carpet cover over the tail lights still in place.
I did not get any written instructions with this, so.....is there some that I could get ahold of to show me how much of that pre-formed carpet to cut out?

I've had two of these because I broke the first one. They were slightly different from each other, one lined up a little better than the other. It may just be luck of the draw if it fits well or doesn't fit well.

Sorry I missed some of the replies. I was thinking that bfh might be the way to go since I really didn't want to cut the carpet out of my car.
I got busy last weekend & decided that I would cut on the box! I removed the carpet around the edge (not the front) & took a tajima saw & chisel to it. Well it fits much better now & my plastic side piece is back in place. I could have done alittle more adjusting, but it is better now now thats a custom fit LOL

Thanks all!
