power antenna wire fix
I bought a 2002 Z28 used with an aftermarket power antenna. The antenna goes up and down great but gets no reception cause the antenna wire from the radio did not match the power antenna connector. Instead of getting an adaptor the previous owner tried to cut off connector coming from radio and splice the wires together! How does the antenna wire work? Should I cut the antenna connector wire off the power antenna and splice them together? It looks like a TV cable wire (solid wire in middle w/braided cable all around outside), how do I fix this to get back my am/fm reception?

reguardless wether you get an adaptor or not it has already been cut so i wouldnt bother. but you can fix it so that it should work fine. just solder the inner wires together and the outers together and keep em insulated from each other.

OK, I will cut the antenna connector off the power anntena, to join the wires. The reason I asked is because I touched the middle wire of the cut end from the head unit to the middle wire of the male connector on the power antenna and touched the outer wire to the outer part of the antenna connector and I did not get any reception! Would this not be the same? Thanks!
