good head unit for under $300?
What's a good head unit for our cars that fit well? I understand that 1.5 dins are rare right now. What would be a good fit and quality head unit?? I'm starting with the headunit then comps and sub and amp

The tuner is better than any of the Pioneer or Alpine that I've had, and that's on both AM and FM. The colors can be adjusted to match the OEM lighting. Also has USB and line in, plus HD is built in.
Using the proper installation kit, an after market radio can look good in the F bodies, unless you get one that is really garish/ghetto looking.

What about one with Bluetooth built-in? I think having hands-free in the '95 M6 would be awesome. I'd hate to lose the good sound (yes, I think is sounds good) of the factory unit. I have the factory upgraded CD with good bass.

Look in the featured and regular classifieds. Find a couple you might like locally, then buy it online. This site has a ton of gear moving thru it. Also try woofers etc and sonic electronix. I know woofers has great cust. Service.

Re: good head unit for under $300?
I just installed a Kenwood KDC-BT948HD in my 00 Camaro SS today and it fits and looks great. It has a ton of features on it and I was able to get it to sit flush without having it extend out the 1/2 inch like most of them do. I just cut out the factory HU mounting bracket and it fits like a glove. It has bluetooth, pandora, you can change the colors to your liking and my fav is the ipod controls. I picked it up for $299 and couldn't be happier!!

It all depends on what features you want. I choose a kenwood because I wanted my steering wheel controls to work. I also had a monsoon factory stereo system so the factory amp had to be bypassed and the factory speakers wouldnt work right. I spent about 600 in parts and labor to get it working right BUT it sounds good.
