Post Front Door Speakers on 3rd Gen

On Crutchfield.com, I selected my vehicle, a 1990 Camaro Coupe w/o Bose system and with power windows. It lists that there are 29 possible front door speakers that can fit in my car. When taking the door panel off and looking underneath, it appears like there is less than 2 inches of space between the panels and the power window box. Has anyone put speakers in their doors with power windows, how has this worked, and how wide ( depth ) were the speakers? Also, is there any way to not cut the carpet on the door panel and still mount the speaker behind it? Thanks

I haven't thought about the doors, but I have considered the kick panels. It would require a little custom work.

All the 3rd gens I've ever seen with door speakers had manual crank windows. The speakers went where the window motor goes.
