Fan Mod
Fan Mod
ALright guys, i did the fan mod, this is how i did it, wanna know if its gonna be cool
okay, first i hooked a wire to the blue wire on my fan 1 relay, i believe i only have one fan cuz its a v6 correct me if i'm wrong
then i wired a realy to the wire, and wired it to the batterey, with an inline fuse, and then wire it to come on only when the car is on, i ran the wires in through the firewall by the passanger side under the glove box
i was wanting to know, i'm a energizing the stock relay, or am i powering that fan fully,
and also is this an okay way to do it
thankx guys

If you have a 3.4L v6, you have one fan. Otherwise you have two (unless you have no AC)
It is virtually imposable for us to tell whether you wired it correctly.
This is a long shot, but I think you did it wrong. If I am thinking of the same “Blue wire” you are, it has to be connected to ground (not +12) in order to turn on the fan relay. An extra relay is usually not required since the wire you should be tapping into only carries enough current to trip the fan relay
Most people use these steps for the fan switch mod:

the wire is already a hot wire so you won't need the 12v source. You will need that if you have a LED on the switch. All you have to do is to ground it to cut the fan on. Not sure if yours will do it, but mine threw a SES light when I turn the fan on when the engine is on. Gonna try it tomorrow, but I have to use a resistor to prevent the SES light from coming on.
okay here is what i did, i took the top off of the fuse panel under the hood, i pulled out the fan relay(only 1 relay, v6) i then looked under the where the relay was and hook a wire to the light blue wire, with if i'm thinkin right a white stripe. then i hooked a switched 12v to this, the fan kicks on and thats it

The relay you added is probably carrying the full current of the fan.
Did you tap into the blue wire or did you cut it?
I ask because if you cut it, the PCM will not be able to turn the fans on by itself.
Just turn the AC on, and if the fan comes on you are all set.
