Factory fitted security

Hi there!

I'm new to the board and also to fourth gen Camaros having been driving a third gen for the last two years.

I only got my new car a couple of days ago and my insurance company needs details of my immobiliser.

My car is a 1995 M6 Z28 and it has the factory VATS system, but in addition it also has a secondary immobiliser consisting of a dash mounted socket containing three electrical contacts.

I have a small plastic thing on my keyring which needs to be inserted into the socket before I can start the car, does anyone know if this is standard equiptment because I can find no mention of it on the net.

I live in the UK so I cant just visit my local Chevy dealer as there are'nt any I thought I'd ask you guys first!

Cheers!

Your car came standard with the Pass-Key II system (the chip in the ignition key). The secondary immobilizer is an aftermarket part, that has been added to your car after purchase.
