Factory 10-ohm speakers - one needs replaced

My 94 Camaro has the UQ0 audio system - am/fm with tape deck, non-Bose. The right rear (sail panel) speaker doesn't work. I want to keep it OEM and figured finding a used speaker on eBay would be easy. Easier than finding speakers from an early Bose system. Nope! Probably because everyone threw these away when upgrading car audio in the 90's, and most that were still in use have rotted by now.

It's part number 16193541 and it's a 10 ohm speaker.

I don't want to burn up the factory amp replacing them with 4 ohms. I'm having trouble finding cross-reference to any other GM make/model which used a 6.75" 10-ohm unit. Any ideas?

I sent DavidT's yard an inquiry because he's got a lot of cars up there in Alberta. $420 for a pair of them, I almost fell over. Even if that's Canadian.

Re: Factory 10-ohm speakers - one needs replaced

Apparently on the base audio system for the early 4th gens, 10 ohm speakers were used in the rear, and 4's in the front. At least that's how the speakers are marked. It seems weird to me that they'd only have 4 in the front, but maybe since it's a 2-way speaker that's 4 for the woofer and 4 for the tweeter? I've also read Delco "10 ohms" isn't really 10 ohms, it's more like 8. I'm sure people think I'm crazy for obsessing over a stock audio system, but that's the point of this car: It's low mile and I want to keep it original and fully functional.

I was lucky enough to find a fully functional Delco head unit and 4 original speakers out of a 96 that someone was selling on eBay last week. For $60! Now I'll have some backups if any other fail plus a head unit I can resell probably for at least what I paid for the whole deal.
