I think it was Shoebox that said it could be done since the wiring was the same as the windows, he couldn't say for sure since he didn't have one. When i asked him he said he would give me any help that I needed to hook it up. Seems like it would work so we just need someone to pioneer this. IT might not have been Shoebox, it was the guy who had the install guide for making the passenger window auto.. Might want to post this on general fbody tech, I can't imagine this not belonging there. There was another website that was just for verts, but have since lost the link maybe someone else knows it.

It was brent Franker who did it.

I have a haynes manual so Ill look at teh wiring diagrams to see if I can figure it all out.

the wiring shouldn't be too hard to figure out, i haven't pulled the switch out yet.

how does the express module work, how does it know when the window or top is at its max position. Does it go by change in amps when the motor stresses because it can't go no more. or is there a turn sensor on the motor the gives a pulse for a turn of the shaft?

Im not sure how it works.

I just pulled the switch out of my car and figgured out the wiring.

Ok so behind the switch the black and brown provide power, and grey and purple go to motor.

So the according to diagram in link terminal A is spliced to grey wire, B is left unhooked, C is spliced with the brown,

Cut the purple wire and connect the end that goes to the switch to E, and the part that goes to the motor to D.

should work if the top motor and the window motors work the same.

I might have to give this a shot. Not sure how well it'll work though with the same window module... I'd bet there is more current draw with the top motor than with the window motor so not sure if this will work

Oh... and with two of the modules you can make it auto up and down

I have an alarm module that might make this work in both the up and down directions. Might have to give that a shot too and see if it works

well current can be controlled. are 2 modules really needed for express up and down, isn't there a way to just rewire it?

Control the current? My concern would be if the normal up/down draw would be beyond the cutoff for the window module.

You might be able to wire it up in such a way with like 8 or so large diodes maybe and then only use just one

if we knew the specs, i'm sure we could get it down. if i coudlnt' figure it out, i have 2 friends that are Electrical engineering grads. it should be possible to set up a current divider by wiring something in paralell with the express module. so if the motor is pulling 2amps, just a random number, and the module can only take .5A then some resistor or whatever will need to draw the remaining 1.5A away from the module. If it can't be done a simple way, then i'll suffer in the old age of having to hold the button down. I'm going away for the weekend, and its pouring outside right now so i won't be able to get a multimeter on the circuit until at least tuesday. I'm not in the mood to have to solder anything else either for a bit since i'd have to cut the lines for the current reading.
