Chillax, Fred--no one is demeaning your ability/knowledge. But you gotta realize sites like this exist to maintain a signif. repository of info; w/ a ~30yr old car, it's almost certain someone else has already had the problem you might run into. As they say, reading is FUNdamental, and I'll read thru a plethora of threads/posts to find the answer. I have the time.

In this instance, I didn't know what a RAP was. I was lucky that the thread right below mine discussed it. It's an obscure part, judging from the response from dedicated Camaro yards; none of them ever heard of it. I had to send them pics of the part & location, but still, nada. So I kept reading and learned I had 2 options. One way or the other I'll resolve it. Give the site (and sites like LS1Tech.com, Z28.com & others)--and of course Rob & shbox.com--some credit, too.
