Bose Radio Problem
Bose Radio Problem
I've been having a problem with my Bose Cd player. When I put a CD in it pulls the cd in and keeps it for a couple seconds then ejects it back out. The screen says ERR, so I assume there is some error. I tried several different cds with no luck. It is pretty humid out too. Could this be the problem? I also had the battery unpluged for about 6 days. It's not the code deal either because the radio works just fine. Do any of you guys have an idea what the problem could be? Thanks.
I was in your boat 2 months ago. What you got is a case of the BOSE spitting CD death. It is not fatal, but not a cheap cure. There are a few places on line that will fix it. Do a google search for BOSE RADIO REPAIR, I found 7 places that I would trust. Most of them want $175-225 for the repair, it was a common problem. I was trying to keep my Pace Car stock so I looked into it.
For a cheap fix if this is all what is wrong and you don't really care about crakin' the tunes you could try what I did at first. I installed an Alpine FM modulator 6 disc CD player in the hatch. Once I got that installed a week later a door speaker died, blew the amp. That is between $75 and $200 for repair. At that point I removed all the BOSE stuff and the Alpine from the car. If you want the Alpine it is for sale cheap. E mail me at SDL39Roger@AOL.com.
What I did from there is installed a new Pioneer DEH-7500, Focal 6.5 in the door, Pioneer 6.5 in the B pilliar, 2 amps were the BOSE sub used to be and I am building a box for a 10 sub in the hatch in the hole on the right hand side, behind the old BOSE "sub" box.
I bought most of the stuff online from Etronics and other places found on carstereo.com.
