DRL/Turn Signal socket bad?

so ive blown the bulb out on my driver side corner, the on in the front its the big bulb with a flat style push in connector. anyways it seems to keep blowing out from water, and also my main thing is, it doesnt seem as bright as the passenger side. the bulbs light up the same it looks like until you get them in the housing the drivers side is way more dim. was thinking its the socket that is bad, but idk. GM wants 59 bucks for a new one so i dont really wanna throw money into this deal.lol. any ideas of what could be wrong? ill try to get a picture showing the difference. both of them seem to function normal and when they burn out the turn signals stay lit, then i change it and its fine, but like i said drivers side is dim. any help please?
