Double din head unit

Hey guys,
I was wandering if anyone has tried this yet. I am wanting to put a double din head unit in my 95 camaro but as everyone knows it's a single din so I am wanting to move the cassette/cd holder area and fiberglass my own double din head unit space. I would like to see what everyone thinks

Re: Double din head unit

I think its a great idea I actually did it before sorry I didnt take any pics but I'm planning on doing something similar again. I have the 98 console Im goin to extend the radio bezel down to the center console to get rid of the gap and give me extra space for a double din. I'm addicted to my navi once you get it you cant do without it.

Re: Double din head unit

6litereter sells one. i dont remember the price, but its probably easier than making your own. also, stock is a 1.5 din, which is why its such a pain in the ***, lol.

Re: Double din head unit

If you have a smart phone / Iphone you can make a mold / face plate whatever .
with your phone mounted in the cubby hole you can connect your phone to blue tooth
ready cd player. And then you have hands free ,navigation ,back up cam, everything
I will see if i can get a picture uploaded of mine molded in my car don't have it hooked up
yet but I have made the face plate looks like it came from the factory very nice

Re: Double din head unit

I just bought my Double DIN bezel from DoubleDMods that was already painted to match for $59.99 + shipping. Looks FANTASTIC! But that's for a '98-'02:

Camaro DOUBLE DIN RADIO BEZEL

But the Double DIN bezels for the '93-'97 are MUCH more (However, if you send them yours to modify, it's only $100)!
