dippy volts
dippy volts
The voltmeter in my stock '95 TA has always been a bit weird.
1. The volts increase overnight while the car is parked, and are always just a couple ticks below the red when I start the car in the morning. It returns to normal, a little above the middle line (I think 12-14?) after 5min of driving.
2. Depressing the brake causes the needle to dip a couple ticks for a second.
3. The turn signals cause the volts to "tick tock" similar to hitting the brakes.
4. The volts dip also temporarily when I turn on my manual fan switch or the headlights.
Basically, any kind of load = a temporary (1 sec) dip of the needle. It doesn't seem to hurt the car and the lights do not dim when the stereo is cranked.
Any ideas?

Re: dippy volts
Strap a DVOM (volt meter) to it and try your xcessories....it might be the gauge's problem. My buddy's 3000gt does that...but then again his batt is on it's way out..
Prolly resistance in the gauge circutry...tick-tock wise...

I still haven't fixed it.
I feel MUCH better knowing I'm not the only one that hasn't been able to find the cause.
