did anyone else have this problem?
did anyone else have this problem?
my factory bose stereo in my 95 z28 is on the fritz. it will randomly go from soft volume, to full blast, to completely cutting out in a split second. and it will stay cutout with no sound for minutes at a time, and then come back on whenever it wants to. And while all this is happening, the display will change randomly from volume , to balance, to the radio station's number.
it will play cds, but the same crap happens. and when i turn the stereo off there is a really loud "pop" noise that comes through the speakers.
my power windows and locks all work fine, as do all dashboard lights. and there are no blown fuses or anything obvious. which makes me think that there has to be something wrong with the stereo itself.
can anyone help guide me in the right direction? any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well h3ll, man. I would immagine so.....
.............sorry dude, I just think that's funny....
Re: did anyone else have this problem?
Yeah, it is kinda funny. Whats even funnier was sitting in the car while i was driving down the road.....volume getting louder and loUDER UNTIL YOU COULD BARELY STAND IT AND THEN almost inaudible....I would refer to it as the "demon-posessed radio"
Anyway, unless you have skill in microsoldering, good luck trying to repair a radio that is doing that....its easier just to replace it.
