Delco Loc II

I have a Bose system in my Camaro, and according to the manual, before you disconnect the battery, you have to disable the stereos anti-theft system (Delco Loc II). The manual states that you need a three-digit code to punch in the stereo, but I didn't buy the car new and I dont' know the code. How do I find out what it is?

I dont know anything really about the stock bose system but according to what you have told me I would say that you should talk to the dealership and ask them what to do.

you should be able to call the dealership give them the VIN they may ask for you to come in with registration, but usally they will give you the code.

You can buy a device that you plug into the cigarette lighter that has a 9V battery plugged onto it. It saves the radio and pcm settings. It also keeps the radio from locking out when the battery is disconnected/removed.

I've seen'em at Pepboys. J. C. Whitney sells one as well. I had my local parts house get me one. Yes, you can use it as long as the 9V lasts. It doesn't "marry" to a car. You can use it on as many cars as you like, just not at the same time. And as long as the 9V holds out. They're handy. Just plug in and disconnect/remove the battery without worrying about the radio or pcm. They look just like the conventional plugs that plug into the cigarette lighter with a 9V plug on the end.
