what other kinda stuff can i hook up to it besides movies? i wanted to try and get navigational software or maybe one of those diagnositic programs (as opposed to having to have a laptop)

Yes, it will fit, I have the same one in my car, I think. Whats the model number on that one, and does it have a seperate brain? Let me know, and I can answer any questions you have about installing it.

So what are you trying to fit in? Both you current head unit AND this one? If so, both of them will not fit. Stock dash opening is 1.5 din Each one of those is 1 din. You are .5 din short. If you plan on just using this new DVD head unit you'll be fine.

The link you posted is to the one without a DVD player. But the AVX-7300DVD does play DVDs, and CDs, so you won't need the deck you have. And this one has a lot of features too.

I have the same one, but mine has the P8000 brain too, which is last years model, now its the P9000 I believe. This thing can do tons of stuff though, way more than my last pioneer deck I thought had a lot of features (DEH-P8500MP).

DOES IT HAVE THE SEPERATE BRAIN????

If it has a seperate 'box', then you can do tons of things. If not, you can still do quite a bit, but I am not sure. Just download the owners manual on pioneer's websit, and it will tell you a lot about it. I am not sure about using it as a monitor for a computer though.

Well, then I have the same one as you. I got mine used for $500, but it is a year old, so you are gonna get a pretty good deal too.

I can almost gaurentee this deck will have more feautes and preouts than your old one. Only thing I would reccomend is getting a CD changer, that way you can have the background display when playing CDs. Otherwise its just a blue screen.
