Custom boxes

Hey guys
I was wondering if any of you have heard of a custom box that fits where the rear bucket seats are? Would like to remove the seats and put two twelves in there place. Really sick of giving people rides and would love to put my two pioneer twelves in that are just collecting dust. But don't want them in the hatch cause I don't want to lose my T-Top storage.

Re: Custom boxes

The way a later f-body is laid out there is a HUGE boost to sub frequencies when they are in the rear well. That means any sub setup will be louder back there, but can hurt sound quality. I doubt you'll find any prefabbed boxes to fit the rear seat area, so you'd have to build it yourself, or pay $$$$ to have someone build you a custom enclosure. I built a box and amprack for where the stock t-top storage is, and built a new t-top rack that holds them on the rear deck. You can get "stealth" boxes that go on the sides, leaving the t-top storage the same, but 12s are hard to pull off and for 2 you'd have to ditch the spare tire. There's a "milhouse" box that replaces the flap back there and pivots out of the way when tops are off, I think 2 12s is too heavy for that tho. There's also a t-top box takes the entire well and has a slot in it for storing the t-tops. Go to fbodyaudio.com, theres tons of other ideas for this problem and some guys who really know what their doing when it comes to this stuff.

Re: Custom boxes

I remember LS1 RULZ having some pics and measurements of stealth boxes he made for both sides as well as an amp rack that fits against the back vertically. Still has the well usage. Check his profile for pics they may still be there. I believe he also still had the spare tire. Just can't remember if they were 10's or 12's.

here r his pics:

Re: Custom boxes

If you are just worried about the t-top space, check out my cardomain site in my sig. I made this box and couldn't be happier. You could do something like this but a little less complex to make it easier. Looks great and sounds great.
