Computer controlled speakers for jukebox
Computer controlled speakers for jukebox
Hi, my friend had a laptop in his car and it controlled all his speakers as a head unit. He would pick a song from his mp3 player list and it would play on his speakers and it would sound very nice too! he had 2 12" subs and 8 tweeters, along with 4 regular 6 inch speakers.
Now the question is, how do I get my laptop to be the head unit of my speakers, so I can play the songs off the laptop!?

You can use the headphone (line-output preferrably though) of your laptop converted to an RCA input format into an acual head unit that accepts AUX input.
OR
run that RCA input directly into your amp(s) and run it that way. Of course, then you have no FM or AM or XM radio signals. Only CD and Mp3, WAV, etc... from the computer will be played through the speakers.
Why not just get you an MP3 jukebox that ties in with your head unit and has USB connectivity. Then when you want to add songs, no biggie just connect it to your computer and download new ones to it.
